Synology announced the availability of the 6400-bay SA12, the most versatile universal storage system available on the market, designed to provide businesses with high-speed data transfer and the ability to expand capacity on demand.

Industry-leading performance and scalability
Storage capacity is expandable with total transparency by adding 1-8 RX1223RP expansion enclosures for a total of 108 drive bays, which equates to more than 1.9 petabytes of space on a single system, or 9 times the original capacity. With over 6,500/4,000 MB/s sequential read/write throughput, the SA6400 ensures smooth operations even in extremely complex situations, including data corporate centers, large production studios, and retail or hospitality applications. Performance can be further boosted to enable more streams or respond to specialized applications by upgrading the built-in 10GbE network to 25 or even 40GbE.
Flexible file services for growing teams
Full support for block and file protocols enables large-scale access to corporate resources over VPN or on-premises network, with access privilege management facilitated by Active Directory/LDAP integration. The cross-platform file sharing and management solution synology Drive enables organizations to create a private cloud that teams can use to securely access, edit, and share files, with granular permission settings for maximum security and compliance. Cloud integration, whether through synology C2 Storage or third-party cloud service providers, enables effective cross-site file synchronization for distributed teams or companies adopting hub-spoke business models.
Centralized data protection for your entire infrastructure
The need to protect and ensure the availability of critical data and services is more urgent than ever, as cybersecurity threats continue to emerge. The synology endpoint protection suite, Active Backup Suite, allows you to back up your upcoming Windows, Linux, and macOS devices, Hyper-V/VMware VMs and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace accounts on the SA6400 and quickly restore them when needed. The SA6400 also includes data backups and snapshot and replica automation services to protect LUNs and shared folders, with destinations ranging from other synology systems to the cloud to easily comply with the 3-2-1 backup rule. Service availability can be enhanced with synology High Availability (SHA) that combines identical drives to create an active/passive cluster to ensure automatic service failover in minutes in the event of unexpected downtime.
Powerful and versatile business application platform
A range of cost-effective solutions are available through synology's DSM download center, virtual machines or containers. Integrated business applications include a full suite of productivity and file management tools that teams can use to enhance collaboration, as well as a private email solution with full data ownership and a comprehensive messaging platform to communicate more conveniently and securely. Docker VMs and containers run on the SA6400 with Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) synology or Docker, a hypervisor for virtualized versions of Windows, Linux, and DSM, to securely test and evaluate applications.
